Replacing Pre-catalytic O2 (Oxygen) Sensors on a Lexus LX470 (Toyota Landcruiser)
Near 100,000 miles on your Lexus LX470 or Toyota Landcruiser? Don't be surprised if the OBD2 check engine light comes on indicating a bad O2 (oxygen) sensor.

Handheld vacuums are so useful for spot clean ups. They have come a long away from the puny "dustbusters" of ten years ago. Take a look at Black and Decker Pivot and Dyson Root 6 as we measure their suction rates and flow rates with full and empty canister bins. And find out why one costs about double the other.

Fujitsu Notebook P7010 Fan Noise, Overheating, and BSOD
The fan inside a four-year-old Fujitsu P7010 notebook computer becomes noisy and is consequently lubricated. However, this fan repair later causes heat-related crashes as the weather heats up because thermal pads needed to get to the fan are re-used. A suitable replacement for the thermal pads is installed and the heat-related crashes go away.

Review of Mr. Nozzle Vacuum Hose, Claw Nozzle, and Crevice Nozzle (#100-DB Kit)
The vacuum hose on my otherwise excellent wet/dry utility vacuum often aggravated me by collapsing when bent under vacuum load or when vacuuming up hot liquids. The vacuum hose from Mr. Nozzle turned out to be incollapsible vacuum hose during my use. Also, the claw nozzle turned out to be a valuable, useful vacuuming attachment.

Cleaning Dog Urine from Carpet by Hot Water Extraction (Steam Cleaning)
Accidents are inevitable in potty training a puppy. The most difficult cleanups were pee-on-carpet accidents. I spot steam cleaned (also called hot water extraction) these areas with my boiling water and my wet/dry vacuum. This method turned out to be highly effective!

New Home Page Layout

Hi, there! If you are a returning visitor, you might notice that the monkeeworks home page (this page) is a slightly different. It is. There are two new panels: (1) "Photo Op" and (2) this one "New Home Page".

What I get a kick of is that if you maximize your browser in a newer WXGA (1280x800) or larger screen, the two new panels will appear as a third column at the right of your screen. At 1600x1200, you will see a fourth column! At an older style XGA resolution (1024x768), the third column becomes part of the bottom half of the "fold" (meaning you have to page down to see it). If you have a monitor capable of better than 1024x768, try playing with your browser size, then observe the transition.

If you don't find it interesting, you haven't read about CSS liquid, frozen, or jello layouts. I think the layout of this third column is a macro application of the CSS liquid layout. The cool things you can do with CSS boxes...

I've verified that the macro liquid layout of this page works on IE 6 and 7, FF 3, and Safari 1.3!

P.S. Also, check out the dynamic "scroll down for more content" arrow that appears when the browser screen isn't wide enough to show everything in 3 or more columns!
