Of course, we flew from Raleigh, NC to London. And flew from Rome back to Raleigh. Also, we took the marvelous Chunnel, an incredible feat of engineering, underneath the English Channel by Eurostar train.

However, for the rest of the trip we were in our "big little" brand new leased Renault Scenic Turbo Diesel "mini-van" from Paris to Rome. It was great to have a mobile base station that was always there, e.g., taking quick naps, eating a snack, storing personal items like maps in a consistent place.
