Sidebar: Olive Oil for Dry Skin

I have noticed that puppy Miat scratched himself more often following having baths. Switching to a dog shampoo with built-in conditioner helped immensely.

The owner of Wag Pets Store in Raleigh, NC offered this piece of advice for dogs with dry and/or itchy skin: Add a bit of olive oil in with the dog food.

Here, I add carrots, leftover roast beef bits, and olive oil to Miat's normal Innova puppy food. The oil has an added benefit of being a flavor carrier so that the taste of the roast beef is carried into the Innova dry food.
