Miat at Kennel (7 Weeks Old)
This is Miat (on left) at the Kristy's kennel at 7 weeks old. I thought very hard about adopting an unwanted pet at the animal shelter, but breed predictability became the deciding factor. (1) Maltese are small as adults. Kristy anticipates he will be around 5.5 pounds. (Miat was 2.4 pounds at 9 weeks old.) Size is important to me because I feel I am capable of raising and handling a smaller dog. They eat less food. Their pee and poop are smaller. They are conveniently "portable." (2) They do not shed, have little dander and are considered hypoallergenic, an important qualities for Mrs. Arrow and me.
