Four Slot Hard Drive Bay: Area of Concentrated Heat

This is what RAID is all about. Big, fast, reliable storage made out of cheap IDE hard drives.

The adjacent hard drive slots in the bay concentrates heat and makes good ventilation very important. Hard drives 2 and 3 were the first to fail in my ReadyNAS 600 box.
