Testing Pivot and Root 6 Vacuum Noise

As you might expect, the loudest part of the a vacuum cleaner is usually the exhaust port. Thus, when I did my noise measurements of the Black and Decker Pivot, Dyson Root 6, and Miele Red Star (for comparison), I faced all three vacuums' exhaust towards the microphone. The Pivot and Root 6 were nearly the same with the Root 6 being 2dB quieter than the Pivot. However, as you probably expect the Miele Red Star canister has a lot more space and opportunity to silence its exhaust and is in a different class of quietness.
