Battery: Advantage Dyson Root 6

Battery: Advantage Dyson Root 6
P1: The Black and Decker Pivot handheld vacuum uses permanent, spot-welded, cheaper, old-tech, less-efficient Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cad or Ni-Cd) rechargeable cells. The permanent spot-welding means that the Pivot vac is a throwaway item. (Reminds me of the Apple iPod battery inaccessibility.) In fact, the user's manual of the B & D Pivot instructs the user to remove the NiCad batteries before discarding with the implication that the Pivot is a disposable vacuum cleaner.

R1: In contrast, the Dyson Root 6 uses superior, memoryless, modular Lithium Ion battery packs that can be replaced at the end of the battery pack's useful life.

In fact, most the weight of the B&D pivot is in the 7 NiCad cells. With the Dyson 6, the motor contains most of the weight.
