Face off: Dyson Root 6 and Black and Decker Pivot Handheld Vacuums
In this article, I do the following:
(1) compare partially disassembled of versions of both handheld vacuums, and
(2) measure vacuum (in inches of Mercury) and flow rate (in units per second) before and after I load up the collection bins of both handheld vacuums with vacuumed debris.
Some of the quantitative testing that will be done during the Dyson Root 6 and Black and Decker Pivot handheld vacuum comparison:
(1) Left: the Black and Decker 18V Pivot (Model #PHV1800). Right: the Dyson Root 6 (DC16)
(2) Letting the cat out of the bag: Testing will show that, with loaded canisters, the Black and Decker 18V Pivot (Model #PHV1800) draws 1 inch Hg of vacuum; the Dyson Root 6 (DC16), 2 inches Hg of vacuum.
(3) Similarly, testing will show that, with loaded canisters, the Black and Decker 18V Pivot (Model #PHV1800) takes 54 seconds to evacuate a bag of air; the Dyson Root 6 (DC16) takes 36 seconds to evacuate the same bag of air.
