Monkey Business

When I was growing up on the Hawaiian island of Molokai, I hung out with Uncle Max almost every chance I got.

Uncle Max wasn't really my uncle, but he was fine with my calling him that. He was retiree and next-door neighbor many years and had the neatest workshop (with metal-working and wood working equipment) and seemed the most content when he was fixing something or trying to "improve" something.

Anyways, mom would always phone or stop by after she came home from work to make sure I wasn't being a nuisance. (I'm sure I wasn't.) And always asking what we (or rather he with me watching and trying to "help") were working on. Invariably, Uncle Max would reply, "Oh, nothing much, just some monkey business." Hence, the name of this website, in tribute to the many happy, fascinating hours spent in Uncle Max's workshop doing "monkey business" type things.

Bio

I have an MSEE from NCSU. During high school, I flipped burgers. Now, I flip bits.

This is not a picture of me, but a picture of our Maltese puppy, Miat, named after my first favorite car, the Mazda Miata. He's better looking and more photogenic than I.
